L.A., NYC SHUT DOWN
THE CLUBS

The final musical notes in New York will be played tonight, as a ban on all entertainment venues goes into effect Tuesday. In L.A., the ban is already in place.

The mayors of both cities announced the bans Sunday night. NYC’s Bill di Blasio will sign an executive order today forcing all nightclubs, movie theaters and concert venues to close. Restaurants, bars and cafes will be limited to food take-out and delivery services.

L.A.’s Eric Garcetti took it a step further, closing gyms and fitness centers as well nightclubs and restaurants. The L.A. is now in effect until 3/31 though it could be extended.

"These places are part of the heart and soul of our city,” Di Blsio said in his statement. “They are part of what it means to be a New Yorker. But our city is facing an unprecedented threat, and we must respond with a wartime mentality."

Nashville, meanwhile, is closing bars and limiting restaurant seating to less than 50% of capacity, with no more than 100 individuals allowed in a given establishment. Bar service at restaurants is limited to 50% capacity with no standing allowed.

Several honky-tonks have already stated they'll remain open.

MGM Resorts International is temporarily suspending operations at all Las Vegas hotels beginning Tuesday. The company operates the Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor, New York-New York, Excalibur and Park MGM.

The Wynn is also shutting down.
