Taylor Swift’s summer didn’t work out as planned for her, so she recorded a new album, her eighth, and titled it Folklore. Republic will release it tonight at midnight ET/9pm PT.
Swift explained in a tweet that she wrote and recorded the music in isolation, co-writing/co-producing 11 of the album’s 16 songs with The National’s Aaron Dessner. Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, William Bowery and Jack Atonoff contributed as well.
The deluxe edition is being issued as eight different CDs and LPs at her website. Fans are encouraged to collect 'em all.
A video for the presumptive single "cardigan" will also go live tonight; in a second tweet, Taylor provided details about the clip.
The music video for “cardigan” will premiere tonight, which I wrote/directed. A million thank you’s to my brilliant, bad ass video team - Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, producer Jil Hardin, executive producer Rebecca Skinner, AD Joe ‘Oz’ Osbourne pic.twitter.com/2hNXnzFbwY
