U.K. MIDWEEKS: 3-WAY RACE FOR #1

Travis, Headie One and John Lennon are locked in a three-way battle for the U.K.’s Official Albums #1 this week. Over on singles, Headie One looks set to claim a career peak with "Ain’t It Different" (Relentless).

Just 364 chart sales separate the Top 3 at the midweek stage. Travis are currently leading the way with 10 Songs (BMG), followed by Headie One’s debut, Edna (Relentless), and a new Lennon collection, Gimme Some Truth (Apple Corps)—produced by Yoko Ono and son Sean—at #3. The self-released debut from D-Block Europe, The Blue Print–Us vs Them, is new at #5.

The expanded edition of Tears for Fears’ 1989 #1 The Seeds of Love (Mercury Records) is just outside the Top 5 at #6; Dire Straits discography collection The Studio Albums 1978-1991 (UMC) follows at #7; t a vinyl reissue of Iron Maiden’s self-titled album (Parlophone) is #8, and Suede’s greatest hits Beautiful Ones: The Best of Suede (Demon Records) is #9.

Future Islands starts at #11 with As Long As You Are (4AD), ahead of U.K. country duo Ward Thomas, whose Invitation (East West) is currently #13.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, 24kGoldn is set to scoop a fourth week at #1 with “Mood” f/Iann Dior (Black Butter) currently leading by 1,500 chart sales.

Headie One f/AJ Tracey and Stormzy’s “Ain’t It Different” (Relentless) is up two to a potential new peak of #2. The British rapper is also on course for this week’s highest new entry with “Princess Cuts” f/Young T & Bugsey at #14.

Elsewhere, Miley Cyrus’s “Midnight Sky” (RCA) rises three places to #5, Sigala & James Arthur are up nine to #8 with “Lasting Lover” (Ministry of Sound), and Clean Bandit & Mabel f/24kGoldn’s “Tick Tock” (Atlantic) rises four to #9.
