CJ INKS WITH WARNER CHAPPELL

Rising rapper CJ has entered into a global publishing agreement with Warner Chappell Music. The 23-year-old artist, who inked a recording deal with Warner Records in January, has seen enormous success with his platinum-certified “Whoopty.”

“From the moment I first heard his music, I was hooked," said WCM President of A&R, U.S., Ryan Press. "We’re looking forward to the journey ahead and working closely with CJ and [manager] James Cruz, along with Julian Petty and the rest of our Warner Records family.”

Ryan Press and the Warner Chappell team are all about building a writer’s career and that’s exactly what I’m looking to do," said CJ. "I’m ready to take this momentum and see what we can accomplish together."

Said Cruz, Founder/CEO of Cruz Control, “I've been on this ride with CJ from the beginning, and I know it’s only going to get better from here with the full support of our friends at Warner.”

Staten Island native CJ got his start in music at an early age with the help of Cruz, who is his uncle. Cruz previously worked with Puff Daddy, Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent, among others. Following his breakout drill anthem “Whoopty,” CJ released “BOP” earlier this year and is currently working on his forthcoming EP.
