U.K. CHARTS: SOUR TOPS QUEEN

Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR (Polydor) has scored a fourth week at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart; Queen takes second place. Over on singles, England’s success in the Euro Cup has sent a host of football anthems into the Top 100.

SOUR finished the week just 270 in chart sales ahead of Queen’s Greatest Hits (EMI), extending Rodrigo’s reign as the only artist to spend more than a week at #1 this year. Queen’s best-of enjoyed a sales boost due to its 40th anniversary reissue. It leads on physical sales, counting for 78% of its total tally.

Further down, Utopian Ashes (Sony) by Bobby Gillespie and Jehnny Beth debuts at #12, and Laura Mvula’s third studio album, Pink Noise (Atlantic), opens at #21.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” (Atlantic) has a second week at #1 on 103k in sales, including 10.9m streams.

Rodrigo’s “good 4 u” holds at #2, while “Heartbreak Anthem” (Atlantic) by Galantis, David Guetta and Little Mix climbs one to a new peak at #3.

Six football anthems land in this week’s Top 100 ahead of England’s Euro 2020 final with Italy on Sunday. Leading the way is “3 Lions” (Sony) by David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and The Lightning Seeds, which zooms 18 places to #4. Also in the Top 40, “Vindaloo” (BMG) by Fat Les is #36, its highest peak since 2010.

Elsewhere in this week’s Top 40, dance track “Black Magic” (3beat) by Jonasu leaps 16 places to #14, and Tones & I’s “Fly Away” (Parlophone) rises eight rungs to #25.
