RODRIGO LEADS RIAA ROOKIE CLASS

Olivia Rodrigo is the Rookie of the Year on the RIAA’s stats board as 43 acts achieved gold or platinum status for the first time in 2021.

Rodrigo saw seven of her songs go gold or platinum this year, while her debut album, SOUR (Geffen), went double platinum in November.

“RIAA welcomes 43 amazing new artists into this year’s Class of 2021 first-time Gold and Platinum Awards Club,” said RIAA Chairman & CEO Mitch Glazier. “You join a towering group of musical giants—legends who've shaped our culture and achieved the very highest level of creative and commercial success.”

The RIAA Gold & Platinum Class of 2021 includes titles released in 2020 and certified in 2021.
