Republic’s Taylor Swift returns to #1 on the HITS Top 50 with Midnights, which first landed on the chart in October 2022. The rollout of a deluxe edition of her 10th studio album, new vinyl and a CD sold exclusively at her MetLife Stadium shows drove fans to consume Midnights in multiple ways—again. It moves 283k units this week, an increase of 409%. As her massive Eras Tour marches on, Tay once again has nine albums in the Top 50.
Speaking of massive, Big Loud/Mercury/Republic’s Morgan Wallen ends his 12-consecutive-week run at #1, with One Thing at a Time sliding to #2 on 127k. The year’s biggest album will cross 3m units in activity next week. Wallen’s sophomore set, Dangerous: The Double Album, meanwhile, continues to reside in the Top 5.
Alamo’s Lil Durk scores one of the year’s biggest hip-hop openings with Almost Healed, which posts 124k—good for #3—giving him his fifth consecutive Top 3 album.
Other noteworthy activity: five country albums—from new genre stars Wallen, Luke Combs, Zach Bryan and Bailey Zimmerman—hold firm in the Top 10; Disney’s soundtrack to The Little Mermaid rises to #20 following the film’s huge opening; and the late Tina Turner’s greatest hits compilation re-enters at #24.
Streeting this week are new titles by JYP/Imperial/Republic’s Stray Kids, CMG/N-Less/Interscope’s Moneybagg Yo, Roswell/RCA's Foo Fighters, BBR/Stoney Creek’s Jelly Roll, SCMG/Capitol’s Toosii and Republic’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack.
