IT’S A #1 THING: MORGAN BREAKS MORE RECORDS
Morgan Wallen returns to #1 on the HITS Top 50 with One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/Mercury/Republic), which posts 67k. With its 19th nonconsecutive week at #1, Wallen’s One becomes the country LP with the most weeks atop the album chart. With three chart-topping weeks in 2024, meanwhile, the 36-track set has also outpaced all other releases for #1 showings this year.
House Lipman scores its sixth victorious week of 2024, while Noah Kahan, Drake and two albums each by Wallen and Taylor Swift give Republic six titles in the Top 10. Monte would like to know why it isn’t seven.
TDE/Interscope’s ScHoolboy Q earns the week’s top bow with BLUE LIPS, which logs 34k for #13.
Also worth noting are big boosts for Zach Bryan and Olivia Rodrigo—both of whom commenced their arena tours in the last two weeks. Bryan’s Zach Bryan (Warner) leaps back into the Top 10 at #8, while its predecessor, American Heartbreak, ascends to #17 in the wake of the Quittin’ Time Tour launch. Rodrigo’s debut set, SOUR (Geffen), joins sophomore album GUTS in the Top 20 as the GUTS World Tour and its social-media reverberations send fans scurrying to the DSPs.
Streeting this week are new titles by Republic’s Ariana Grande, Dirty Hit’s Bleachers, Range/Mercury Nashville’s Luke Grimes, Epic’s Judas Priest, Motown’s YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Blue Note/Capitol’s Norah Jones.
In political news, President Biden’s impressive State of the Union speech has Donald Trump accusing him of using performance-enhancing drugs—possibly scuttling Trump’s Adderall endorsement.
