ADAMS ON THE EVE OF Z100 PD GIG

Mark Adams has been named PD at Z100, iHeartMedia’s flagship Top 40 station in NYC, effective 5/1. He replaces Mark Medina, who’ll become SVP of programming in Phoenix.

Adams, who’ll report to Thea Mitchem, the company’s EVP of programming, will also continue as VP of CHR.

“Z100 is one of the country’s most iconic stations and brands, with an incredible legacy of programmers and talent,” Adams enthused in his quote. “It represents the absolute pinnacle of our industry, and to find myself a part of that history is honestly humbling.

He then thanked division President Bernie Weiss, Mitchem and Tom Poleman “for the opportunity to join their amazing team at Z100 and iHeartMedia New York.”

Mitchem hailed Adams as “the ideal choice to lead Z100 into the future."

Adams joined iHeartMedia in 2013 as VP/programming for its Portland, Ore., stations before moving the following year to San Francisco to program KYLD and Hot AC “Star 101.3” KIOI. Prior to that, he was VP/programming for Rose City Radio in Portland and VP/music programming for CBS Radio Houston.

We’ll continue to pester Mark in his new role, and odds are he’ll continue to avoid us.
