KENDRICK TAKES THE GLOVES OFF

Kendrick Lamar has struck again with the Sounwave/Jack Antonoff-produced "6:16 in LA," his second Drake diss in less than a week. The track arrived via Instagram on Friday morning (5/3), with the pgLang/Interscope MC rhyming over a choice Al Green sample.

The single art features a black glove lying on a table, a clear signal that the gloves are off. As with "euphoria," Kendrick is in top lyrical form, taunting Drake with lines like "Are you finally ready to play/ Have You Ever? Let’s see/ Have you ever thought that OVO was working for me?/ Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person/ Everyone inside your team’s whispering that you deserve it.”

"6:16 in LA" follows the aforementioned "euphoria," which ripped through the rap community like a missile on Tuesday (4/30). The six-minute tongue lashing is currently #1 at Spotify U.S. and #3 global, #1 on Apple Music's USA Top 100 and overall singles chart and #2 at iTunes. The YouTube video has racked up more than 10m views. Rumor has it Kendrick is holding a nearly 20-minute version of "euphoria" in reserve.

It remains to be seen how or if Drake will respond, but the lyrical warfare will likely continue. Listen to Kendrick's latest below while we dissect these double entendres.
