UPDATE: A "TEXAS"-SIZED START FOR BEY

Beyoncé's "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" (Parkwood/Columbia) amassed 31m+ streams in the U.S. in its first six days, making it her biggest release in well over a decade.

"TEXAS" seized the #1 spot on Spotify's U.S. Top 50 over the weekend and maintained the #1 spot at Apple Music over the last week.

Globally, it's been locked in Spotify's Top 5 for the last week and appears to be gaining momentum—indeed, "TEXAS" had its biggest streaming day on the platform, with 5.7m, 2/16 and reached its highest position yet, #2, on 2/17. It has amassed north of 34m plays worldwide on the DSP.

Beyoncé's down-home heater is being serviced to seven radio formats, zipping into the Top 30 at Pop and Top 40 at Rhythm and Hot AC as Columbia's Peter Gray and team do their "TEXAS" two-step.

At Country radio, "TEXAS" entered the chart at #50 and was most added at the format on Tuesday with Sony Music Nashville's promo team—led by Steve Hodges and VP Lauren Thomas—on the case. Whether or not the latter format's audience will fully embrace Bey's new music remains to be seen, but for now, "TEXAS" is picking up mondo adds.

We've yet to see an official music video for "TEXAS," which should prove a vital piece of the puzzle. Beyoncé is among the most captivating performers and visual stylists in music, so her next clip seems virtually certain to move the needle—if it doesn't break the scale altogether. When will it arrive?

Stay tuned. As for now, plenty of fans at the intersection of country and pop are making their own "TEXAS" clips on the socials. Boots sold separately.
