MTV VMAS POST BIGGEST AUDIENCE IN FOUR YEARS

The MTV Video Music Awards scored their biggest audience in four years with 4.08m viewers across the live telecast and two encore presentations.

The numbers are up 8% over last year's total of 3.78m. The VMAs were aired on 13 Paramount-owned channels, including Comedy Central, CMT, VH1, BET and Univision.

According to Paramount, the broadcast generated 66.7m social media interactions, which is a new record, and was the #1 trending topic worldwide on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Taylor Swift led the VMA field with seven trophies and was the most-decorated artist of the night. She broke Beyoncé’s career record with 30 VMAs won and became both the first artist to ever win the Video of the Year trophy on five occasions and to claim that prize in three consecutive years.

The VMAs were executive-produced by Bruce Gillmer (pictured) and Den of Thieves' Jesse Ignjatovic, with Barb Bialkowski serving as co-executive producer.
