After depositing his surprise new album into the shopping bags of unsuspecting customers at his Third Man Records stores in Nashville, Detroit and London two weekends ago, Jack White has revealed a wider release for the project, which is still called NO NAME.

The 13-track set will materialize on DSPs on Friday (8/2), while a blue vinyl edition will be available tomorrow at Third Man stores and the following day at select indie retailers. A black vinyl variant is being sold online only through Third Man and White's web sites.

NO NAME was recorded, produced and mixed by White at his Third Man Studio over the past year and change. It's the follow-up to his twin 2022 albums Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive. But on NO NAME, White ditches the experimentation and returns to his sweet spot: raw-boned, Zeppelin-inspired rock & roll.

The announcement contained the cover art—yup, Jack remains in his blue period—and track names following a burst of imaginative guesswork from hard-core fans unsatisfied with “JW_NO_NAME_A_01,” etc. The official titles are...

Following a show tonight in Atlanta, White will head abroad for four August festival dates filling in for the ailing Queens of the Stone Age. The artist is booked by Robby Fraser (U.S.) and Russell Warby (international) at WME. His longtime manager is Ian Montone.
